To the east side of the town of Hydra is located
the School of Arts. It is housed to the Manor of Tompazi,
since 1936.
The painter Periklis Vizantios (1893 - 1971), with
the ex-manager of the School of Art, in 1936, created
the today's School of Art that is housed to the Manor of Admiral Tompazi.
Walls inside the manor of Tompazi adorn paintings with historical
facts and ships of the era 1821.
There had been stayed most importand personalities
of the Art and Literature, like Chagall and the writer Daninos.
The island was transformed into a cultural center that attracts more
and more famous Greek and foreign artists.
